Vivian Guzmán

Manager of MELI
As manager of MELI (English acronyms for Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning for Innovation) Vivian leads the processes of design, collection and analysis of strategic information so that both entrepreneurs and Alterna focus their efforts towards achieving the objectives of social and environmental impact. Vivian is an economist specialized in data analysis and its application in economic and social research for development. She has worked as a researcher in several think tanks such as the Association of Research and Social Studies ASIES and the Central American Institute of Fiscal Studies ICEFI. She has been a consultant in the public sector (National Institute of Statistics and the General Secretariat of Planning) and for development agencies (UNDP, UNICEF, World Bank, ILO, Population Fund and UN Women). In her professional career she has participated in research on poverty and inequality, living conditions, gender, childhood and adolescence, labor market and work, taxation and social protection. In addition, she has been a columnist in the digital media Plaza Pública and Nómada.

What inspires her?
The total change (personal and social) that contributes with the construction of human bonds for a country more just, inclusive and environmentally friendly.

Curious fact:
Melomaniac and lover of arts and letters, Vivian is an amateur photographer and printmaker. Dreamer, idealistic and feminist, she is the mother of a wonderful boy and a wonderful girl. To relax, heal and reconnect, she aims for a good walk or dance.
