Mercedes Pérez

Mercedes is currently a coordinator of entrepreneurship at the Loyola University of Andalucía (Spain), where she designs, coordinates and executes activities aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial spirit in the university community, as well as actions focused on creating business in the region. Mercedes returned to Spain after spending five years in Guatemala, the last three working in Alterna in various roles. In her last stage as director of business development, she coordinated the design and search for alliances for vertical programs such as the Impulsa Program and directed the first edition of the FLII Central America.

Prior to Alterna, Mercedes worked as a foreign trade analyst at the Foreign Trade Institute of Spain in Guatemala, was a consultant in development and entrepreneurship in MR and a consultant in finance at Management Solutions in Madrid and London.

Mercedes has a degree in Business Administration and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania through a Fulbright Scholarship.

She is in love with Guatemala and michelada (which she misses so much as her friends), loves to travel and is learning to play the ukulele.
