Magdalena Coronel

Ms. Coronel is a member of Houlihan Lokey’s Portfolio Valuation & Fund Advisory Services practice. She has more than nine years of angel investing and venture capital experience in Latin America, providing an array of services related to investment analysis, deal structuring, portfolio follow-up, and investor reporting in several Spanish speaking countries, such as Uruguay, Panama, Paraguay, and Mexico.

Ms. Coronel has analyzed more than 600 deals, performed tech, market and financial due diligence and prepared financial models and investment memoranda for more than 30 companies. She has also evaluated terms in four sell-side acquisitions and reported portfolio performance indicators to national and international investors such as local governments and the Inter-American Development Bank.

Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Ms. Coronel was a Director with the Institute of the Americas, where she was responsible in identifying investment opportunities in Latin America as well as collaborating with large Latin American companies interested in absorbing local start-ups. Prior to joining the Institute of the Americas, she was Head Venture Capital Analyst with Prosperitas Capital Partners, a venture capital fund investing in early stage tech companies located in Uruguay.

Ms. Coronel holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Universidad de la Republica Oriental del Uruguay and is completing an MBA, with a concentration in Finance and Banking from NYU Stern School of Business. She co-founded a 35 member Angel Investor Network with a focus on deal flow from Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay, and was a Business Fellow from Partners of the Americas and the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in 2011.
